It’s finally here! The Turkey Spinach Burger Recipe you’ve all been waiting for. This is an amazinglydelicious burger with half the fat of aregularburger and a serving of veggiesat the same time!
My husband (no, not the kids) WON’T eat spinach. In fact hedoesn’t care for many veggies period, especially the green ones! BUT he loves this burger!
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs Ground Turkey
- 2 cups Fresh Spinach
- 1 tsp Garlic Salt
- 1 tsp Emeralds Essence
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- Small Amount (just a few flakes) Red Pepper
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- and the special tasty ingredient –1/2 tbsp BeefBouillon Powder
Combine all the ingredients in a food processor.
Grind together and make into patties.
If you like a little spice, you can add a few red pepper flakes to the top. Just a small amount. A little goes a long way. My husband always adds a kick to his but it’s usually too much for me.
GRILL and let the drippings fall off into the grill. (This makes a huge difference, compared to pan frying. We use a charcoal grill but use whatever you prefer.)
Money Saving TIP for charcoal users: When you’re finished cooking, place the lid back on and smother out the flames. This way you can reuse that old charcoal.
Add low-fat or no fat cheese. (or full fat, whatever floats your boat!)
You can serve this on a whole wheat bun or a whole wheat sandwich thinsifyou’re doing a high protein low carb diet like we are.

Hi Amy! This looks very good. My husband isn’t against spinach but he really makes faces at turkey. I may have to try this.
I do have a question, though. You suggest not pan frying them, but our grill is having issues. What would be another way? Broil maybe?
Finally, I’m not 100% sure what kind of recipes you are looking for, but I do have a handful of healthy crockpot recipes I’d be willing to share!

Sure broiling them would work!

This sounds good Amy. I would have to put some onion in it though. We love spinach! I also make Turkey Chili. I am going to try your recipe.

I love spinach, and practically all veggies! I bet these are yummy! I have never put spinach in burgers, but you can be sure I am going to try these and probably this weekend. My husband is not a big burger person, but I am sure he would like these.

Sorry I don’t know of any recipes for crock pots, but I would be interested in those too. I usually work late and using the crock pot would be a great help. I’m going to search for some. If I come up with anything good I will share it with you.
Thanks for sharing the recipe for these burgers!

Yes the crockpot is great for throwing quick and easy meals together! And trying broiling them. You can always pan fry if you want.

Just added this to my favorites!! I used to make a Southwestern Turkey Burger served on a Whole Wheat English Muffin for P90X meals…. This sounds great!

I am definitely adding this to our family meal plan! My hubby isn’t a big fan of turkey burgers or spinach, but he’ll have to live with it because the combination is one of my absolute faves!

This is great! I try to sub ground turkey for most ground beef recipes because the cost is so much less! But I struggle to find substantial flavor. Adding the beef bullion cube/powder is inspired. Thanks!

Hi
Just came across this today and made it this evening. It turned out great! I will have to tweak the spinach a little bit next time. The flavor (for me) over powered the other ingredients.
Thanks for the recipe – it was quick and easy too.Darin

What is Emeralds Essence?

It’s a mixture of spices – paprika, cayenne, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, oregano, and thyme.
