Summer meal options in the Piedmont Triad: 2024 list of options (2024)

Families in the Piedmont Triad have a variety of resources and support to keep their families well-fed through the summer. Here's our list, broken down by location. Forsyth CountyWinston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools will participate in the Summer Food Service Program. DINE WS/FCS will offer free summer meals to kids and teens ages 18 and younger, for free. Breakfast and lunch will be at some schools from June 17 to July 31. There will be mobile lunch locations, too. Some locations are open five days, while others are open for four days. From June 17 to Aug. 9, the school system will offer food at locations throughout Alamance County. This is open to students ages 4-18.

Registration is mandatory.

  • Mocksville Elementary: Breakfast 7:45 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.; Lunch 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Nutritious free meals are available for children and teens 18 and younger at many locations. Summer meals in Surry County are served from 8 a.m .to 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. All meals must be consumed on site. This is from May 28 to May 31 and June 3 to June 20.

Yadkin County

Walk-ins are welcome for free breakfast and lunch for those under 18. Breakfast is from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sites will be open Monday through Friday from June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 15 to 19, July 22 to 26, and July 29 to August 2 and August 5 to 9.

    Stokes County

    The Stokes County School System told WXII that for the 2024 summer, all of their summer meal programs are at closed sites supporting summer camps.
