Noolkol Curry
I always see turnip in my supermarket but i never pick them. I have never tasted them in my entire life. Last week we went to our super market, I decided to grab couple of those. I came home and made a delicious curry using that and it was delicious, it tasted healthy.

This one different from the normal curry which we make, it has yogurt in them which gives a nice tangy bite to it. It has a nice aroma of the black pepper and makes it taste delicious..
Ingredients for Noolkol Curry
- Noolkol / Kohlrabi - 4 small ones
- Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
- Water as needed
- Curd / Yogurt - ½ cup
For Grinding:
- Coconut - 1 cup grated
- Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
- Green Chilli - 1
- Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
- Rice Flour - 2 tsp
For Seasoning:
- Coconut Oil - 1 tblspn
- Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
- Fenugreek Seeds / Vendayam - ¼ tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Dry Red Chillies - 1 broken into piece

How to make Noolkol Curry
- Peel noolkol and chop it into small pieces. Take it in a pan along with pepper, salt turmeric and water. Cook this for 15 mins or so till it is completely cooked.
- Meanwhile grind the ingredients given for grinding to a smooth paste.Set aside.
- Whisk yogurt till smooth and set aside.
- Now once the noolkol is cooked, add in the yogurt and mix well. Add in the ground masala and mix well. Simmer for few more mins.
- Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling the spices. Pour this over the curry and mix well.
- Serve with rice.

Ingredients
- 4 Noolkol / Kohlrabi
- 1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder

- ½ cup Curd / Yogurt
- For Grinding:
- 1 cup Coconut grated

Hi Aarthi, Try cooking Nookol with mutton... Prepare your regular mutton gravy but with addition of this yummy veg... Tastes great...
