Here is how to make your own vaporizing bath bombs:

Supplies needed:
-1 cup of citric acid (found here)
– 1 1/4 cup of corn starch
– 1/2 cup of Epsom salt
– Food coloring in green, blue (optional)
– 10 drops of eucalyptus oil (I use this brand)
– 2-3 drops of peppermint oil
– 1 tablespoon of dried lavender (find some here or 2-3 drops lavender oil)
– Spray bottle with water
– Mold of choice (I love these cheap and easy to use bath bomb molds)

Directions:
To begin, mix all your dry ingredients into a bowl. This means the citric acid, corn starch, lavender buds, and Epsom salt. Mix well with a spoon so contents are dispersed evenly.

Then, add your oils. The eucalyptus and peppermint oils will work wonders on congestion, and will also help the mixture start to clump, which you want!

Coloring your bath bomb is optional. We added 2 drops of blue and 2 drops of green food coloring to our mixture. You can do the same or leave it naturally white.

Looking pretty! Once your dry ingredients and your oils are added, it is time to wet the mixture.

I like using a spray bottle so I can really monitor how much water goes in. Lightly mist and stir quickly. You may notice some bubbling and fizzing. This is normal just work quickly to stir and keep things moving.

You will add about 2 teaspoons of water in all. Continue spraying and pinching the mixture until it is moldable. Go slow and remember it is easier to add more water than take it away!

Your vaporizing bath bomb mixture can now go into the mold. I like these molds from Amazon as each piece is only about a buck and they work great (see the link in the supply list for purchase).

Press the vaporizing bath bomb mixture in and pat it down tightly. Gently turn it over and let the vaporizing bah bomb fall out.

Let the bath bombs sit and dry out for about 24 hours. I jus place them on a cookie sheet and set them up where they won’t be disturbed.

Sure these would make amazing gifts, be the perfect craft for ladies night in, or are even great for having on hand during cold season. You can store them in glass jars or plastic baggies and they will keep just fine.

Trouble shooting: If your mixture doesn’t stay together, sprinkle in some more corn starch and spray a bit more water until the mixture firms up.

If you are sensitive to any of the oils mentioned, do not use this recipe. If you want bath bombs not as strongly scented, feel free to cut back on the oil suggestions.

Gather your supplies and give these simple vaporizing bath bombs a try. They are such a great way to enjoy bath time.
